Mr. Akiyama’s journey in the world of oceanography began when he graduated from Tokai University’s School of Oceanography with a Bachelor of Science in March 1988.
His extensive professional journey led him to Sanko Tsusho Co., Ltd. of Tokyo, where he dedicated three decades to the Sales Division. Sanko Tsusho is a respected import and export trading company specialising in meteorology and oceanographic equipment, industry equipment for the defence market, and environmental measurement equipment.
In October 2018, Mr. Akiyama took the reins as President of Misago Co., Ltd. based in Yokohama. Misago is known for its proficiency in importing and exporting oceanographic equipment, making it the ideal partner for OTAQ to navigate the complexities of the Japanese market.
